Greg Schundler's career chronicles a journey from energy infrastructure finance in New York City, to organic grain and vegetable farming on the Olympic Peninsula of Washington State. Schundler helped pioneer ecosystem service valuation methodology at Earth Economics and has worked in county and city governments for rural, suburban, and urban jurisdictions.
Schundler works in the City of Portland Budget Office, where he is pioneering public value benefit and cost analysis for all city infrastructure investments. He has been engaged in the "civic intelligence" movement for years, having founded the Community Intelligence Lab through Washington State University Extension, and most recently through his work with "TruthTree.wiki" through DemocracyLab.org out of Seattle.
He collaborates with "civic hackers", university students, and graduate school students to build platforms that empower the people with public data visualizations.
