Scholarship FAQ

Q: How do I apply?

A:
The first step is to identify the program you are seeking financial support to participate in by consulting our list of scholarship opportunities. Each program for which a scholarship is available includes a link its application form that can be submitted online or printed to be submitted by mail, fax or email.

Q: When should I apply?

A: We encourage you to apply as early as possible and allow four to six weeks for processing. For some scholarship opportunities, applications are assessed on a rolling basis until available funding is exhausted, while for others they are assessed after a specific deadline. Find out these details by selecting the scholarship opportunity you would like to apply for.

Q: How and when will I hear about the status of my application?

A:For the Holistic Studies Scholarship, we will notify applicants starting in March and on a rolling monthly basis thereafter. Scholarships require a minimum of four to six weeks for processing. We will notify you of the status of your application by email. If you do not have an email address, we will notify you by phone or mail.

Q: What do scholarships cover?

A: The total cost of participating in a program includes tuition, housing, meals, access to campus amenities, and, if applicable, the childrens' program or materials fees. A partial scholarship covers 25%, 50%, or 75% of the total cost. A full commuter scholarship covers 100% of the cost of tuition, meals, access to campus amenities, and, if applicable, the childrens' program or materials fees, while a full on campus scholarship covers 100% of the same costs, plus accommodations.

Q: Is transportation covered?

A: The cost of transportation to/from Omega is not included; please make sure you are able to cover the cost of your travel expenses.

Q: How do you decide who receives a scholarship?

A:
Applications are assessed by taking into account responses to the essay questions and financial need, using a set of household income level guidelines that are adjusted annually and specified in each scholarship application. Please note that fitting into the financial guidelines does not automatically qualify you for a scholarship and that we unfortunately do not have the resources to provide a scholarship to every applicant. Certain applications may specify other assessment criteria which will be included in the specific scholarship opportunity you select.

Q: If I am awarded a scholarship, how do I make sure I am registered?

A: You can make sure you are registered by confirming your decision to attend as soon as possible after being notified of acceptance. For women’s leadership scholarships, we must hear back from you within one week of being notified, while for other scholarships, we must hear back from you within two weeks. If you are unable to confirm your participation, we may offer the scholarship to another applicant. For recipients of partial scholarships, any remaining balance will become due and payable when you receive your confirmation of registration and no later than two weeks before the start of the program. Please note that submitting a scholarship application does not guarantee you a scholarship nor automatically register you for the program.

Q: If I am not awarded a scholarship, is there any chance I could be offered one later?

A: Applicants who are not offered a scholarship are placed on a waiting list after they are notified. We are unable to respond to status inquiries from applicants on the waiting list. In the event a scholarship becomes available, applicants on the waiting list are contacted. Individuals are welcome to reapply the following year.
