Continuing Education & Professional Training

 

Thousands of people come to Omega each year to further their professional development by taking programs that offer continuing education credits. Many companies offer their employees assistance in advanced training; check with your employer. Continuing education credits are awarded in the following categories to the programs listed on this 2021 accreditation chart. Programs are certified for continuing education credits by the Institute for Better Health (IBH), formerly IAHB, and not by Omega Institute for Holistic Studies, Inc.

Certificate of Attendance

Omega Institute for Holistic Studies, Inc., is responsible for issuing Certificates of Attendance. There is a $25 fee for a Certificate of Attendance for a workshop that you have attended. In three to six weeks, you will receive a Certificate of Attendance. There will be an additional $25 fee for certificates that need to be reissued. This is not a Continuing Education Certificate. You may request a Certificate of Attendance when you register, or call 877.944.2002.

Continuing Education Guidelines

Participation

To qualify for CE/CME credit, you must be registered in the workshop, have paid all fees in full, attended all sessions, and fully and actively participated in the program. You must pre-register for CE/CME credit; please be sure to include all related fees when you register. No partial credit will be awarded and credit will not be issued retroactively.

Fees 

There is a $50 fee for CE credit, unless stated otherwise in the course description. There will be an additional $50 fee for certificates that need to be reissued.

Procedures

To receive CE credit, you must attend the course in full and sign in and out each day of the workshop. Failure to submit all fees and paperwork at the conclusion of the workshop will disqualify you from receiving CE/CME credit. Onsite at the workshop, you will receive a CE handout providing you with important course information. After the conclusion of the course, you will receive an email containing a unique weblink to access the online course evaluation. Upon submission of the online evaluation, your CE Certificate will generate for printing.

Sponsors

The Institute for Better Health (IBH) works with Omega Institute for Holistic Studies, Inc., to provide quality educational activities that are available for professional continuing education credit.

IBH is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit educational organization located in Santa Rosa, California. Its mission is to provide innovative, top quality continuing education and continuing medical education activities for professionals. IBH’s programs encompass a comprehensive and multidisciplinary array of educational activities in the form of workshops, conferences, multi-media home-study materials, and customized training programs. Except as otherwise noted, IBH has been approved as a provider of continuing education and continuing medical education by the following organizations. Please refer to the accreditation chart for designated activities and hours for your profession.

D Physicians

This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the accreditation requirements and policies of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) through the joint providership of the Institute for Better Health and Omega Institute. The Institute for Better Health is accredited by the ACCME to provide continuing medical education for physicians. The Institute for Better Health designates this live activity for a maximum of 1 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits ™ per hour attended. Physicians should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

E  Educators

The Institute for Better Health has been approved by the Washington State Professional Educator Standards Board (WESPSB), a member of NASDTEC, as a Clock Hour Provider for Educators. Learners may claim one Clock Hour for each activity hour attended. Please contact your individual state boards for information regarding reciprocity and any additional requirements. Attendees will earn 1 CE hour per clock hour attended.

N Nurses 

Institute for Better Health, Inc is accredited as a provider of nursing continuing professional development by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation. Institute for Better Health is approved by the California Board of Registered Nurses, BRN (Provider CEP#2672).

P Psychologists

Institute for Better Health is approved by the American Psychological Association (APA) to sponsor continuing education for psychologists. Institute for Better Health maintains responsibility for indicated programs and their content. Attendees will earn 1 CE hour per clock hour.

NY State Psychologists, Counselors & Social Workers

Institute for Better Health, Inc. is recognized by the New York State Education Department's State Board for Psychology as an approved provider of continuing education for licensed psychologists #PSY-0007. Institute for Better Health (IBH) is recognized by the New York State Education Department’s State Board for Mental Health Practitioners as an approved provider of continuing education for licensed mental health counselors. Provider Approval #MHC-0063. Institute for Better Health, Inc is recognized by the New York State Education Department’s State Board for Social Work as an approved provider of continuing education for licensed social workers #SW-0091. Courses that meet the guidelines for the New York State Education Department are approved for 1 contact hour per hour attended.

YA Yoga Alliance

Continuing Education credits are granted in accordance with Yoga Alliance standards. See YogaAlliance.org for more information. All hours are contact hours.

For professionals not covered by the accrediting agencies listed above: Many state boards accept offerings approved by national or other state organizations. Please check with your own professional licensing board to determine whether the accreditations listed are accepted. Teachers may be able to independently provide CE credits not listed here. Please check teacher websites for specific information. CE credits offered by teachers are not processed or administered by Omega or IBH.
