Omega Launches Podcast ‘Dropping In’ to Connect Listeners with the Nation’s Leading Voices on Awakening the Best in the Human Spirit

RHINEBECK, NY -- For more than 40 years Omega Institute for Holistic Studies has been a premiere travel destination in New York’s Hudson Valley, drawing people from far and wide, who come to learn, grow, and get inspired at more than 350 educational workshops offered annually. Omega’s new podcast Dropping In will give listeners a taste of the distinct in-person experience that has brought more than a million people to Omega since 1977. Premiering September 23rd, the 20-minute episodes will allow listeners to ‘drop in’ on classes and intimate interviews with artists, climate change provocateurs, spiritual teachers, health experts, and more. Peabody Award-winning public radio journalist Karen Michel hosts Dropping In, which will explore the many ways to awaken the best in the human spirit.
“We’re proud to be launching the first season of our new podcast, Dropping In. It’s one of the important ways we’re expanding our global reach,” said Carla Goldstein, president of Omega. “We want people to be able to experience Omega’s thought-provoking programs and world class teachers from wherever they are, and whenever it suits them.”
Dropping In will reflect the breadth of Omega’s diverse curriculum, which encompasses six subject areas: Body, Mind & Spirit; Health & Healing; Creative Expression; Relationships & Family; Leadership & Work; and Sustainable Living.
Season One will include nine episodes and cover a wide range of topics, from Native American ecology and Buddhist meditation to climate change, women’s leadership, healthy aging, and Ayurvedic cooking. Featured teachers include, in order of appearance: Tim Olmsted, Joan Borysenko, Major Jackson, Ann Haven McDonnell, Richard Lamarita, Winona LaDuke, Don Miguel Ruiz, Jr., Bonnie St. John, and Paul Hawken.
Listeners can hear the Dropping In trailer and subscribe now on most popular podcast apps, such as Apple Podcasts, Google Play, Spotify, Stitcher, Overcast, Pocketcast, Castro, and RadioPublic. Beginning September 23rd the nine episodes of the first season will be made available bi-weekly, through those apps and on Omega’s website. Season Two is currently in production for release in 2020.
