Omega Launches Ambitious 5-Year Strategic Plan Aimed at Scaling Up to Make Global Impact
Themes “Teach, Model, Act” Represent Core Organizational Framework in Omega’s Blueprint for Action
RHINEBECK, NY – Omega Institute for Holistic Studies, a nonprofit dedicated to lifelong learning, today announced plans to expand reach well beyond its Hudson Valley location. Omega’s 5-year Strategic Plan outlines goals and strategies for building organizational strength and maximizing impact. From developing online curriculum to building strategic partnerships to leveraging Omega’s assets and voice for advocacy, the organization is poised to increase access to programs and mobilize constituents through focused community engagement.
“Visioning Omega’s path over the next 5 years required gathering input far and wide—from our participants, teachers, board, staff, and thought leaders across fields—so we could position ourselves to respond in creative and effective ways to an ever-shifting world,” said Robert “Skip” Backus, chief executive officer at Omega. “In the process, Omega has committed to enriching the learning experiences we offer and scaling up our engagement as a global force for change.”
With a 40-year track record of pioneering holistic studies and helping more than one million people grow, learn, and find a deeper sense of meaning and purpose, Omega is known the world over as a trusted resource for educational experiences and a hub for thought leaders, creative talent, and social visionaries. As an economic driver with a significant ripple effect across the Hudson Valley region, Omega is uniquely positioned to work at organizational, regional, and global levels and has an important contribution to make.
Building on the leading-edge work of the Omega Center for Sustainable Living, Omega Women’s Leadership Center, and existing commitments to veterans, nonprofits, yoga service, mindfulness, a robust core curriculum, and scholarship opportunities, the Strategic Plan details organizational aspirations and next steps for bold action.
